We know choosing a school is an important decision, and families naturally have questions – especially when exploring a curriculum that may be new to them. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about our academic program, school culture, governance, tuition, and student support.
At Legacy Christian Academy, we believe education is about more than academics alone. Our
goal is to help students grow intellectually, spiritually, socially, and personally in a Christ-
centered environment.
We offer an individualized academic approach that allows students to progress with
understanding and confidence while building a strong foundation in core subjects. Our teachers
work closely with students each day, providing instruction, encouragement, accountability, and
support.
We also value strong partnerships with families and the church community, while honoring the
cultural values and family traditions that are important to many of the families we serve. In
addition to academics, students have opportunities to grow through chapel, art, music, physical
education, cooking, sewing, woodworking, and other hands-on learning experiences that
help develop creativity, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership.
At LCA, each child is known, supported, and encouraged to grow in both faith and character as
well as in academic ability.
The A.C.E. School of Tomorrow curriculum is a structured educational program that combines mastery-based learning with clear academic goals and strong teacher guidance. Students work through material in manageable units and demonstrate understanding before moving forward.
One of the key features of this model is that students can progress at a pace that matches their level of readiness and mastery. This does not mean students are left to teach themselves or work without oversight. Rather, it allows teachers to meet students where they are, give support when needed, and ensure that learning gaps are addressed before a student advances.
This approach can be especially helpful for students who benefit from individualized attention, consistent structure, and opportunities to build confidence through steady progress.
In our program, self-paced does not mean unstructured or optional. It means that students move forward based on mastery, not simply because it is time to move on according to a calendar.
Each student is given clear daily goals and is expected to make consistent progress. Teachers carefully monitor work, provide instruction, check for understanding, and step in whenever additional support or added challenge is needed. Students who are ready to advance may do so, while students who need more time to understand a concept receive the support necessary to master it.
This model helps students build responsibility, perseverance, and confidence while still learning in a structured environment with clear expectations.
Teaching at Legacy Christian Academy is active, intentional, and teacher-led. Students are not simply given materials and left to work on their own.
In the early grades, especially Kindergarten and 1st grade, instruction is highly structured and teacher-directed. As students grow in independence, they gradually begin taking on more responsibility for portions of their work, always with teacher guidance and oversight.
In grades 2-9, teachers use a combination of:
· Whole-class instruction
· Small-group teaching
· Individual support
· Daily review and progress monitoring
Teachers regularly explain lessons, answer questions, review completed work, give mini-assessments, and make sure students truly understand the material. This approach allows students to receive personalized support while continuing to work toward clear academic goals.
Math, English, and other core subjects are taught directly by teachers. The difference is not whether instruction happens, but how it is delivered.
Depending on the lesson and student needs, instruction may take place in:

Younger students often make progress more quickly because foundational habits are still forming, but older students can also make meaningful gains with the right support and consistency.

This model is designed so that one student’s needs do not prevent others from making progress. Each student has clear goals and knows what work should be completed, which allows the classroom to function in an organized and productive way.
While one student receives individual help, other students can continue working purposefully on their assigned tasks. Teachers actively manage their time and rotate support as needed. If a student consistently requires more intensive help, additional support may be considered.
Students are also carefully assessed and placed at an appropriate level from the beginning. This helps ensure that the work is challenging enough to promote growth, but not so difficult that students become consistently stuck or discouraged.
Yes. We understand that tuition is a significant investment for families, and we want to support
households enrolling more than one child.
At this time, Legacy Christian Academy offers a 5% sibling discount for families with two or
more children enrolled. The discount applies to the second child and each additional child after
scholarships have been applied.
As a new school, we are currently managing substantial start-up costs, but we hope to expand
tuition assistance opportunities over time as the school grows.
